One of my favorite books of all time is the classic “As a Man Thinketh” by James Allen. If you’ve never read it, do yourself a favor and read it first chance you get. I’m including a FREE copy for you at the end of the post.
Don, what does that have to do with today’s quote? Well, both the quote and the book are about controlling our thoughts. Here is a small taste taken from “As a Man Thinketh:”
“Man is made or unmade by himself; in the armory of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself. He also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace. By the right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to the Divine Perfection; by the abuse and wrong application of thought, he descends below the level of the beast. Between these two extremes are all the grades of character, and man is their maker and master.”
I hope you can see the power in those words. Basically, whether we realize it or not, we control the quality of our lives when we choose our thoughts. Of course, many of our thoughts are habitual which is why it is so important to be positive and speak positively.
So, as Joel said in the quote, guard your mind and do not let the enemy control them.
